‘Our winner, by unanimous decision!’: Minneapolis 5th grader Lavendar Nelson claims her seventh national boxing championship.

A GoFundMe after Thanksgiving covered the costs for Lavendar to compete in the weeklong USA Boxing National Championships in Lubbock, Texas. A bantamweight at 121 pounds, Lavendar hopes to win more titles than two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields.
