Federal authorities confiscated Abdiaziz Farah’s passport after connecting him to a food aid fraud investigation. Months later, he obtained a new one and booked a one-way ticket out of the country.

Federal authorities have been investigating Abdiaziz Farah since at least January for alleged food aid fraud. They took away his passport then, but he obtained a new one in March 2022, and bought a one-way ticket to Kenya. He never made the flight, and turned himself in to authorities on May 23.
