On Saturday, February 24, the Masonic Cancer Center (MCC), University of Minnesota and the Science Museum of Minnesota are teaming up to give Minnesotans an incredible inside look at all things cancer prevention and education at the Goldy vs. Cancer event! As Minnesota’s Cancer Center, MCC has served the entire state for over 30 years, providing cutting-edge cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and survivorship services. 

Our team of doctors, nurses, scientists, and educators is determined to be a resource for you in all seasons and walks of life, whether you’re looking to reduce your cancer risk, get tips on when and who should be screened for cancer, learn more about new medicines and therapies developed by our scientists and doctors, and receive support while navigating a cancer diagnosis for you or a loved one. Together with the Science Museum, we’ve put together a fantastic all-ages event with different exhibits hosted throughout the museum!

Get a firsthand look at real human tissue samples and see how your organs change as cancer cells crawl throughout the body! 

All In The Family

Did you know that risk factors for cancer can run in a family? Join our genetic counseling team in making a fun “DNA bracelet” while discussing what features to look for in your family history.

Be a Cancer Researcher!

Join us for a hands-on activity showing how scientists use proteins to study cancer cells and find new treatments. Use a microscope to look at real human breast cancer cells! Learn to measure small volumes of liquids using a micropipette, just like researchers do in the laboratory!

Pet Power: Learning from Cancer in Our Companion Animals
