Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for a Business Relationships Manager who will build, implement, and support connections and partnerships with the communities, organizations, and agencies that are working on critical single family homeownership issues throughout the state.

Minnesota Housing Community Initiatives programs provide funding to assist cities, counties, tribal nations, developers, non-profits, and other organizations across Minnesota with their homeownership housing needs, including:

  • New construction of homes
  • Acquisition, rehabilitation, and resale of homes
  • Owner-occupied rehabilitation
  • Construction loans
  • Homeownership education, counseling, and coaching
  • Manufactured home community redevelopment

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop and lead marketing and outreach plans for community initiatives programs.
  • Make sales calls and visits, coordinate events, attend events; and give presentations to cities, counties tribal nations, non-profit agencies, and other industry partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) borrowers.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to current and potential Minnesota Housing partners on community initiatives programs.
  • Provide input on current program policies and processes to ensure programs remain competitive and effective.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to lenders, consumers and partners.
  • Participate on project teams that explore opportunities to refine programs and expand markets.
  • Manage grant programs with funds provided by the state legislature.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all the minimum qualifications listed below. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.

  • Three (3) years of experience working with single family homeownership programs, single family home lending products or single-family housing grant programs.
    • Examples of single-family programs and products are home improvement loans, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Rural Development [RD], down payment assistance programs, homeownership vouchers and VA or USDA loans.
    • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, marketing, public administration or public policy may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating housing program functionalities, performing risk assessments, or providing program enhancement recommendations.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing federal and state laws pertaining to housing programs.
  • Strong public speaking skills to audiences of various sizes.
  • Strong organizational and/or project management skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, collaboration and professional writing skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with state housing programs or knowledge of state housing program processes and procedures.
  • Experience working in marketing, communications, or customer service roles.
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders in a collaborative manner, particularly in communities of color.
  • Experience working with grant programs and grant contracts.
  • A master’s degree in finance, business management, public administration, communications, marketing, or a related field.
