Minnesotans often lead the nation in turning out on Election Day. This year, however, the Trump administration has threatened people’s right to vote, while claiming to address illegal voting practices. Throughout the spring and summer, the federal government fought states about the common practice of voting by mail. And election experts have raised alarms about more noise and interference from the administration and outside actors in November.

So what’s myth, what’s truth, and what do Minnesotans of color need to know about casting their ballot on November 3?

This fall, Sahan Journal is here to give you accurate information about how to protect your vote. On October 15, 2026, we’ll be hosting a live community conversation, “Vote Without Fear,” at our studio in St. Paul, Minn.

The conversation will explore the facts about voting security in 2026. We’ll also walk you through how to respond to anything and everything that may happen on Election Day. And we’ll hear from Minnesota election experts and community advocates who are working to make elections safe.
