Minnesotans in the southern Twin Cities metro will elect a new member of the U.S. House of Representatives tonight.

In Congressional District 2, former state senator and former Lakeville Mayor Matt Little of the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party faces Republican state Sen. Eric Pratt.

Both are running to replace retiring Congresswoman Angie Craig, who vacated the seat and unsuccessfully sought the DFL nomination for this year’s open U.S. Senate seat.

This is one of eight U.S. House seats in Minnesota up for election tonight. The seven other incumbents are favored to win reelection. They include DFLers Ilhan Omar, Betty McCollum and Kelly Morrison, as well as Republicans Tom Emmer, Pete Stauber, Brad Finstad and Michelle Fischbach.

Check back tonight for live election results.

Polling places close at 8 p.m. Results will be updated approximately every 10 minutes throughout the evening.
