Tom Gitaa moved from Kenya to Minnesota for college. He planned to return home, but instead found himself publishing a digest of news from Africa he called Mshale. Despite economic challenges and the death of his wife, he persevered, growing the publication and shifting its focus to local news about African immigrants.
