Minnesota Housing is hiring! Serve Minnesotans by leading critical housing finance operations. The Single Family Portfolio Operations Supervisor oversees a $7B+ loan portfolio and ensures quality control for $1B+ in annual lending. This role supports and develops staff, maintains clear policies and procedures, and addresses complex operational issues. You’ll collaborate closely with program, legal, finance, and external partners to ensure compliance and effective service delivery, while fostering a respectful, accountable, and mission-driven team environment.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supervise Portfolio Management and Quality Control (QC) staff; direct day-to-day work to meet goals aligned with agency values.
  • Develop, implement, and manage procedures, guides, applications, and internal policies used by the teams.
  • Establish and oversee departmental reporting; ensure reports are prepared, analyze results, and communicate findings.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships and monitor performance against contractual expectations.
  • Participate in division and agency leadership activities, including budget preparation, division workplan development, employee engagement initiatives, Annual Housing Plan development and implementation, and active engagement in leadership meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in consumer mortgage loan servicing, including loss mitigation processes and strategies.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience and working knowledge of consumer mortgage servicing requirements, including managing a real estate owned (REO) portfolio from foreclosure to final disposition, as required by State and Federal regulations, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA and private Mortgage Insurance companies.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, evidenced by experience in the use of reporting tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and strategies.
  • Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus building with diverse groups to solve difficult and sensitive problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities across various cultures and to plan, organize, and direct the technical and administrative activities of staff and partners.
  • Experience leading new initiatives that include integration with numerous partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ACEs quality control software
  • Experience in post-closing quality control operations
  • Certification or licensure under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) or mortgage industry designations in consumer mortgage lending (such as Certified Residential Servicer or Certified Mortgage Banker)
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Finance.
  • Three (3) or more years of Supervisory or Management experience specifically in the area of mortgage servicing operations
