Incumbent Hopkins Mayor Patrick Hanlon easily won reelection Tuesday night over three challengers, including a Somali-American filmmaker who hoped to make history with his longshot bid for the office.

Hanlon won more than 82% of the vote; business owner Lynn Bialick had 10%, and Abderazak Ali and Robert Ivers each had 3%.

Key issues in the race included housing affordability, the city’s financial health, public safety and the arrival of the Metro Transit Green Line extension, slated to open in 2027.
